In this episode, Dr. Brent Ridge of Beekman 1802 explains the unique properties of goat milk, from pH balance to probiotics, and why it’s especially powerful for sensitive skin. If you’ve ever wondered whether goat milk is more than just tradition, this deep dive will give you the answers.

Packgoats 101: Getting Started with Hiking Companions on Hooves

Thinking about hitting the trail with goats by your side? Pack goats can transform the way you explore the outdoors, but success takes planning.

In this episode, I talk with Nathan Putnam of Putnam Pack Goats and NAPgA, who shares essential tips on picking the right goats, gearing up properly, and making your first adventures enjoyable and safe.

Goat Packing and Public Lands: How NAPgA Keeps the Trails Open

What happens when goat owners run into restrictions on public lands? Chris Gifford, president of the North American Packgoat Association, joins me to unpack the challenges, the science behind the debate, and the advocacy work NAPgA is doing to keep the trails open. Whether you’re a goat packer or simply curious about the issue, this conversation sheds light on a critical topic for goat enthusiasts.

Hello Reader, My University of Massachusetts class in raising goats started last week and it has been a huge shock to see students using AI responses in their class discussions — especially because the discussions are supposed to be all about the student, their plans for raising goats, and how the information they learn in class fits into their farm plans. Holly is also the author of a comprehensive guide to making sauerkraut and kimchi right in your own kitchen. Here’s a taste of what you’ll learn: 🥒 The difference between pickling and...

Hello Reader, I have spent the last week and a half trying to dispel the myth that lye is a dewormer! It is so frustrating that a video promoting lye as a dewormer has been viewed more than 145,000 times now, and subsequent videos promoting it have been viewed 12,000 and 11,000 times. Reading the comments is so sad because there are people who have real worm problems, and they are going to follow this advice to use a treatment that won't help. My original video, Do NOT Deworm Your Animals...
