Hello Reader,
My University of Massachusetts class in raising goats started last week and it has been a huge shock to see students using AI responses in their class discussions — especially because the discussions are supposed to be all about the student, their plans for raising goats, and how the information they learn in class fits into their farm plans. I don’t understand why someone would spend close to $2000 on a course and then just drop an assignment into AI, and then copy and paste the output and turn it in. You don’t know what you don’t know, so the danger of using AI for something you don’t know anything about is that you won’t know when it gets things wrong. I’m going to be creating a video about this soon on my YouTube channel — why you can’t let AI raise your goats for you.
Some old-time farm remedies may sound clever—or even nostalgic—but a few are downright dangerous. From Sevin dust on chickens to Tide detergent for bloat, these “fixes” can contaminate your food supply and harm your animals. Here’s what to avoid and what to use instead.
Did you know that most chicken deaths can actually be prevented with good management? From predator attacks to vent prolapse, many of the top causes of mortality trace back to nutrition, housing, and flock care. Learn the five biggest risks to your chickens—and the simple steps you can take to keep them healthier and safer.
If your does aren’t getting pregnant—or are miscarrying—the culprit may not be hormones, but minerals. Deficiencies in copper, selenium, or vitamin E can all affect fertility, kidding success, and overall herd health. Learn how to spot the signs of deficiency and support your goats with the right nutrition.

📄Apple Cinnamon Muffins
Fall is nearly upon us and that means it's apple season. This recipe for classic apple cinnamon muffins is super simple to make and sweetened with honey. The addition of buttermilk helps to produce a tender, moist muffin. Serve them warm out of the oven on a crisp autumn morning with a steaming cup of coffee.
