🎬(Goat Videos) birthing myths, premature labor, and milk safety

Hello Reader,

Kidding season comes with a lot of questions and uncertainty. In these videos, I talk about preparing for labor, why the 30-30-30 rule can be misleading, how to interpret common signs of kidding, and what factors affect milk safety. These are topics that often cause confusion, and I address them here.

â–¶ The Most Important Thing You Need for Kidding Season!

Kidding season often means long nights and constant listening, especially when the weather is cold. In this video, I am talking about the single most important piece of equipment every goat owner needs to have before their first goat goes into labor.

â–¶ Why I hate the 30-30-30 rule in goat birthing!

I’ve heard the “30-30-30 rule” for kidding shared many times over the years, but it often creates confusion and unnecessary worry. In this video, I explain why that guideline can be misleading, how goat labor is commonly misunderstood, and why you usually have more time than you think to respond when something is truly wrong.

â–¶ Premature Labor in Goats

If you’re staring at your pregnant doe and wondering if she’s about to kid weeks early, you’re not alone. In this video, I break down why common signs like a dropped belly or a big udder can be misleading, and what truly tells you when labor is close.

â–¶ Is your goat's milk safe to drink?

One of the most common questions I receive is what a goat needs to be tested for to make sure her milk is safe to drink. I wish there were a short checklist, but there isn’t. In this video, I walk through the real factors that affect milk safety.

Happy goatherding!
