🐄 Dutch Belted cattle, cookbooks, and goat goulash recipe

Hello Reader,

Two cataract surgeries this summer really slowed down my plans for events on the farm, but I am excited that we are finally offering a yoga class this Friday at 6 pm! We’ll enjoy an hour of yin and gentle yoga by the pond at sunset, with optional goat cuddling afterward! Bring your yoga mat if you have one—we’ll have some available, too. The cost is $25 per person, and you can register here.

A good cookbook can do more than provide recipes. This collection includes practical guides to fermenting, preserving, baking, freezer cooking, stocking a homemade pantry, and creating flavorful meals with wholesome ingredients. Whether you’re shopping for a gift or adding to your own kitchen library, these books offer plenty of inspiration for making more food from scratch.

This article explains why their moderate size, longevity, fertility, and rich milk production can make them a good choice for a family homestead. You’ll also learn what to expect from their milk supply and why raising them can help preserve the breed.
